At an overnight B&B in Horley near Gatwick Airport, England we dined at the adjoining 'Six Bells' pub. Apart from a great evening and excellent food, the age and architecture of the inn intrigued me. The owner told me that it was authentic tudor dating back to the 14th century, except for a 'modern corner' that he whimsically pointed out ... which was 16th century! I returned with my camera and sketchbook the next morning to capture the quaintness and feel of the place as an interesting, painting subject. I hope that you can share with me the pleasure of seeing these ancient yet sturdy buildings preserved for daily use for the comfort of the traveller.
